I could have gone longer with the synthetic, but I figured 6-7000 miles was enough... I normally change out at 2500-3000 Miles no matter what oil I use..

I'll say it again... I myself am hard on cars... I do change the oil more than most would
Point taken jr's3800, I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I was just telling others of my experience and wondering if the synthetic oils were something I should consider. The only and I mean ONLY reason I don't use it is the price. I have on rare occasion used a synthetic blend but that was only because it was on sale at $9.00 Canadian a gallon and decided to stock up.
Have you ever thought of using regular oil( brand of your choice ) and substituting 1 Quart for a quart of synthetic( Same brand as your choice )?

I usually pay $20 per 5 qt container of Mobil 1... And I usually get several at a time... I love it even more when its on sale for $17.xx and then I tack on my

I have never had any bad luck with Dino Havoline, Mobil, Valvoline , Castrol and the like... My buddy has used nothing but Havoline in every thing he has owned... He has never had any oil related issues, and his engines always look like new on the inside..

Frank, I'd stick with what works.. Keep on changing that oil like you should and the car will live a very long and happy life..

Some of the issues the 3.8 V6 had were corrected when the 3800 was designed... This would be the very reason we see so many 3800'* well over 200k and some well over 300k and still going... The Body may fall apart but the motor will still be good
