Hey guys as you know I just recently got my 1993 Bonneville SSEi

well I am curious is there a way that I can monitor the instant fuel econ?

I know I have thr trip button but does the DIC display instant/avg fuel econ?

Sorry don't have an owner'* manual

No there isn't an electronic way to do it. You're gonna have to use the old school method of the math......Calculating mileage of the the gallons burned.

Buy a 97+ Regal
Instant MPG and Average MPG as well as miles to empty are displayed, but I keep mine on the gauge thats most important........BOOST!

Cause the boost gauge is prudent information.

Electronic ones aren't 100% accurate if you really want to nit pick though. They are based off of OE fuel pressure specs, and injector pulses/widths. But they're close enough not to matter.

Mmmm about the only thing the car didn't come with. Would be nice to have though. I love the way my buddies truck shows 10mpg at 70 on the highway until he hits it..then it says 0mpg lol

I wonder why pontiac did not equip these kind of info on the bonneville....everything else is so advanced in the car. Very curious I say...... very curious

I don't think GM felt it was important. Only line to have it ...and I'm guessing here was Cadilac.

Chrysler/Dodge put it on everything. And I don't know why with the mileage they are currently getting why the manufacturer would want to advertise...but they give it to nearly every car.

yeah, gas wasent 2.21 a gallon for 87, and 2.41 a gallon for 93 lol

Default instant fuel economy

I have a 2000 SSEi with the DIC. You push the mode button until 'vehicle data' comes up.
Push the select' botton until ' fuel economy instn MPG' comes up. Thats the way it works on the 2000.
