Default stupid move

I just did a really smart move. Tomorrow I'm giong to be working on the 2000 SLE to replace two window regulators that have failed. Last night, I cut myself on a metal vent at work so I had to have a tetanus shot this morning. I"m going to be dying come tomorrrow when I go to work on the Bonneville. My arm is going to feel like it'* going to fall off.

Darn GM and their crappy window regulators! After driving this car for the week, I've discovered sooooo many problems with it and my brother is wanting to get rid of it because it'* been a constant headache.

1. Newly replaced GM rotors are warped already (with 15,000 miles on them)
2. Steering shaft is clunking... again
3. Power steering is making a hard vibration at low speeds (not related to the steering shaft)
4. Two window regulators failed
5. Winsheild cracked for seemingly no reason along the top
6. Driver'* side door handle will not unlock with the key
7. radio does not illuminate at night, including half of the display itself
8. ELC pump runs almost non-stop.

Quite the list of things to fix.. all of this has occured in the last few months or so! The SLE has 71,000 miles on it, too!

Sorry to hear about the cut.

Why replace the regulators when you can use Archon'* fix it yourself guide.
Windshield..things happen...maybe a poor install
Rotors.. I don't know how you folks do it.
Steering clunk...probably wasn't greased properly. DIY for a better job.
Door handle...is your FOB not working? I've got a couple...cheap. PM me
ELC pump...time to break out the soapy water..hopefully it'* something small...

Unfortunately I live in a condo and they have very strict guidlines against working on your car here. I'll have to borrow a friend'* garage to do the work. I'll need to swap out the regulators as quickly as possible for that reason.
For the rotors, I'm not sure why they're warped already, other than the stockers being relaly crappy on the 2000+ cars.
The steering shaft seemed to need being greased every 1-2 years
The fob works o.k., I"m just used to unlocking my car with my keys when the fob isn't needed. Just a preference of mine.
ELC.. I think it'* the shocks themselves. :(

i think some people have so many rotor issues due to lazyness and improper installation

and your Olds shouldnt have the pump running constantly unless the rear end is sagging, which should only be when under load, unless maybe your springs are a bit weak

Rotors can be warped by doing a screeching stop and continuing to stand on the brakes. If ya screechem, let the brakes go and let it move forward a bit.

Man, I feel for you. I found out that there are two choices in life: Have a Bonny or have a life. It'll either cost you big bucks or big time if you are mechanically inclined.

If you get to the radio display lights, I can post a picture how-to, just holler.

I purchased the extended warranty, up to 75,000 mi. even within that time, I went through two different radios. He said the displays are known for that. NOW the display is acting up again. I get a partial display sometimes when I start up, but it fixes itself later.
What'* it like to fix that DIY...?
I have had good luck with my 98

If you are going to be replacing them yourself, just add an hour and 20 minutes to the job. It took 40 minutes to repair one, and that was including the time it took to test it, lube it up and snap pictures.

Here'* Haro'* fix for the radio display.

But, my problem isn't the lighted buttons. My problem is the actual station and time display screen that is garbled. It looks from the exploded view, that it is a sepatate piece to purchase, and can't be repaired.
