There is only one strut mount per side. I think you're talking about the strut mount "Bolts/Studs" though and yes one of the three is still attached when the bar is removed.
Right; I meant that not all of the strut studs actually attach to the strut bar.

the reason I said the wheels MUST remain on the ground is so the strut will not lose its alignment due to the lack of support from the upper strut mount & shift its position.
