I bought a new lower and upper rad hose today, 4litres of coolant and 4 litres of distiled water, was able to flush the rad pretty good with my garden hose, its all set to go now, the old coolant was a bit dirty but nothing serious at all, the inside of the rad looks VERY clean, metal parts are bright and shiney. Hardest part was fitting the new lower onto the rad flange...holy crap that took like 45 minutes to work it on. Good to go.

Ok... let'* clean up the confusion here.
Transmission fluid is an oil. These oils contain cleaners and lubricants. If the fluid has never been changed then the oil needs to be changed.
Rule of thumb is if your fluid changes haven't been done, it is best not to flush all the fuid. Just change the fluid and filter. This leaves a certain amount in the torque converter. By doing it this way you don't shock the system with all new fluid.
I'm preparing to change the fluid and filter in my 95 because it is starting to develop or seeming to shift a little hard. The lubricant in the new fluid and the Lucas tranny goop I'm going to put in will hopefully smooth things out.

Hmm, maybe I should do mine sometime, I hvae never done it. I also think that it has never been done, so maybe its about time.
