Why would it mean supercharged when all the badges (until the current generation) also said Supercharged?

I think it'* just playing with the SSE.... I tend to like "Super Sport Edition" better....

Actually I remember the dealer telling my folks back in 91, that that is what the SSE stood for...... I know it'* technically not true... but it'* what I like to believe.
