sadly this is a topic that has come up many times, apparently I have learned that it stands for absolutely nothing. It'* up to the owner to make up something. I would think LE and SE stood for Limited Edition and Sport Edition and SSE maycould stand for Super Sport Edition, but the LE bonneville is the basic trim level (definitely not a limited edition) which leads us back to the beginning of what does all those stand for. Just like Seinfeld, it'* about nothing.

ha yeah i just got done reading those posts with everybodyt argueing about what it meant. pretty amusing if you ask me but thanks for your help

The only badge acronym on Bonnevilles that means anything is SLE. The others mean nothing, and that is straight from Pontiac as a result of our request for the information.
