I bet he'* talking about one of those like $13 intakes. If so, you get what you pay for man. Gather round the campfire and let me tell you a story...
The guy a few apartments over has an Integra he was wanting to do some budget mods on. Problem was he didn't buy budget parts, he spent $60 on a "DC Sport Style" header. I had already agreed to help him install it before I knew how much he spent on it. Lets just say it was about 3 hours to do something that should have been as hard as changing a lightbulb. It leaks still and it even 'seems' slower which I wouldn't doubt it is. Lessons learned...but not by him...
About a week later he shows up with a $100 "Type-R" intake manifold. I felt like laughing and learning so I helped him. We disconnected about 15 sensors, lines, and other various things from the old manifold only to discover places for THREE of them on the new one. Well this was actually discovered (not by him, mind you) before we started but his internet buddies assured him it would work so we continued. That was 2 weeks ago and its still sitting while he "researches what to do next."
So like I always say, "Air Force guys are always good for a cheap laugh." err...the more relevant one is "How fast can you afford?"

Ahh a hot air intake, much like the crap system I have temporarily slapped in. Uhmm...no unless you plan on blocking the heat from getting to it. Hot air = hotter combustion = detonation = knock retard = less power. So intake = less power haha. The question is if the added air offsets the fact that its hot. I dunno, I've seen similar systems being sold like hotcakes but it looks too short.

It'* better than stock, however, once the engine warms up, it is no longer better than stock. You really must get something with a heat sheild. I think the tried and true "rice pipe" is the best. There is really no getting around it. I know once I splurge for an intake, it'll be the rice pipe.

Way too short, plumbing coupler, and 5 dollar filter. That'* a rip.
That pic looks like a 2k+, and they have less room in that corner than you do. You need to use the space up with a longer pipe to get the flow as laminar as possible.
