General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Is this some sort of safety feature?

...or if the engine cuts out in a minor act of rebellion toward the cruelty inflicted on the car.

Thant would be kick *** on ice and snow, but on pavement... what do you do to keep the front tires from rolling backwards when the car is going 50 miles an hour? if nothing, then you just probably overloaded the tranny to a point that the torque converter couldnt absorb the force, and you basically you bogged the engine down. Next time you do that, wait for snow and spin her at 25.

I don't think this is a serious post. No one would do that to a full size car unless they wanted to blow the tranny or worse....

the only way you could probably safely get away with that, would be to throw it in neutral 1/4 through the slide... even then... that'* got to be hell on the trans when you do it on pavement...
