General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

So it's come to this...

Yes it does, since it is originally coming from this site, that'* part of the script in order to track it.

Jeff,

If you happen to be looking for a way to control the expenses, let me know how many U'* the server is and approximate bandwidth consumption in gigabytges per month the site uses.

Guys, we're in excellent shape with regards to the server and BW, including a backup server now as well (our old server is the backup now, and we have a totally new one).

I've been off for a few days and just noticed the ads. I'm neither put off by or worried about them. Matter of fact, the neat thing about the google ad structure is that it will adjust based upon the subject being duscussed currently and also based somewhat upon the frequency that items are discussed on the forum.

That means that there is often information about or product related to a subject, while in a certain thread, that is pertinment to that subject. For example, if you are talking about headlamps, the may be an ad above that offers headlamps.

I've got no website experience or anything, but have found this to be true on other sites that I've visited. It is sometimes handy.

I get a kick out of the "2006/07 Bonneville Pricing" ad.

Personally I clicked on one a few minutes ago regarding a 98 bonneville for sale. They're not all bad :P

My single concern about them is when I first visited the site today and saw the ads, I was thinking, "Damnit, they got nailed again.".

www.explorerforum.com does the same thing, basically. Except you dont get an avatar unless you donate (become elite, $20 us), and some other functions too.

I dont intend on buying a bonneville, or a GM product at that any day soon, but the ad ideas a good way to help take the price down a bit

Also its not bad at all since the ads are a white background

I appreciate the implied offer, but I am not interested in moving the servers.

Thanks,
Jeff

Other than to say that the site data is north of 1 GB and that traffic is "lots," I'd rather not disclose specifics.

Thanks,
Jeff
