Actually, I would, but I don't think the wife would go for it.
I know a couple of decent mechanics in Erie. Who are you taking it to for the inspection?

You laugh, but I've seen a few 87-91 Bonnies get demo'd, as well as a fellow H-body (Olds Eighty Eight / Ninety Eight, can't remember which is which). They held up decently well.

Still couldn't hold a candle to the Caprice that won. Those things are absolute tanks.

what about telling your wife that if she wants another car that bad fine but you will park and keep ther bonne until you can afford to fix it up as YOUR toy? even if it sits for a while you still have it and if she sees you are that serious maybe she'll back off.

well, it comes down to what you want to do. obviously replacing it would mean that you'll have a new car with a new set of issues. Whether those issues will be less in the long run than fixing the current is up in the air.

That being said, I'd also be interested in the car. We have inspections, but I have a 5 spd tranny that needs a home in a cheap trial bonneville for now.

Well, I know there is some interest in her if I get rid of her. I'll keep everyone informed.
I thought of putting her up for a while and making it a project, but I can't park it here and I am not sure if I could find a place to park it.
I LOVE the idea, especially since our goal is to become a two vehicle family.
And, yeah, I tried explaining that a new vehicle is a new set of problems, but she is pretty stubborn.

Well, Today is the last day...
I am literally like depressed. Honestly, this is the longest I have ever owned a car. And, this is the nicest car I have ever owned. I have had newer cars in better shape, but I have never had one this NICe. Does that make sense? I mean, c'mon, it'* a freakin Bonneville.
This is also the most I have ever done to one car myself. I have put blood, sweat and tears into this one.
One thing for certian, there will be anothe one in my future.
I would like to go with a 99 SSE or SSEi. Of course I want BOOST, just not sure if I want the gas prices to go with it.
In the meantime, as long as you will still have me, I plan on hanging around.
On the bright side, the Bonnie will be going to a new home, not teh junkyard.
Not sure if I should disclose the buyer as to his ( or her) privacy, that'* his/her business.
I am sure if the new owner wishes to reveal his/her identity, it will happen.
