Default Snow Tires

Has anyone tried putting 16" tires and rims on a bonneville that normally has 17" wheels? i am just worried about the clearance for the brake discs?

I dont know about all the trim models, a 04+ GXP/SLE wont accept 16 inch for that reason. What is your year, trim level.

MINES AN 02 SLE. Tirerack seems to think its OK because they advise you to purchase 16" rims and i would love if it worked for the cost savings.

Something to keep in mind: Will it throw off your speedometer? You will need to compensate.

the outer diameter is still the same but the inside diameter changes so speedometer wise its not an issue. i am probably going to go to a junkyard and find an old gm vehicle with 17" wheels and go from there.
