Default Slick-50

Picked up from oil from a supermarket about a month ago and with the purchase of a case or oil you got a free box of Slick-50 Engine Treatment. So I got 2 cases and 2 boxes of this stuff. I also believe Castrol uses it in their oil if I'm not mistaken. It tested by Shell Lavatories so it cant be that bad.

So...Should I run one bottle though each Bonne next oil change?

You will find many deem it snake oil and some like it.

I'm a user and have seen and heard the differences on super cold days during start up of a high mileage motor.

I remember one of my teachers in high school said he used the stuff. He claimed that he was on vacation that summer and his car ran out of oil, but kept running for like a hundred miles until they got to a garage. I'm not sure about that though. I'm guessing he just didn't have any oil on the dipstick, and figured it meant it was empty.

Use it, it works. It got rid of the tick my uncles '98 Century had.

Well I'll add my own personal tale.
I bought a new 92 Caravan for the wife, Slick 50 was advertised alot so I tried it instead of my usual stp oil treatment. A few weeks into it she came home and said she hit something and soon after the oil light came on so she drove it home I went out to look, popped the hood and NOTHING on the dipstick. I looked under and there wasn't any puddle so I broke out the tools, jacked it up and found a nickel sized hole in the bottom of the oil pan; there was no chance that there was any oil left in pan and just not registering on the stick.

I can't swear slick50 saved that engine or not but I do know my wife drove 20 some odd miles home that day. I patched the hole with JB Weld & a peice of sheet metal and we traded that Caravan in for an Astro 8 yrs/ 90,ooo miles later w/o a single major repair. (left bearing assy in 98 was about the biggest repair)

I'm sure the 3800 has much tighter specs than the Mitsu3.0 so I don't know how effective or harmfull slick50 would be, Bobtheoilguys say Not to use it and I haven't in years.

They are totally different additives to my knowledge.

I've used Lucas and have seen it do nothing but help empty my wallet. If that'* the test case...I'm not surprised, slick 50 doesn't claim the same type of stuff as lucas, it'* not a stabilizer..

That'* my basis for mentioning that it'* different, but I've heard both sides.. personally..

At 0 degree weather..it made my billion mile 75 pick up'* 350 start like it was a warm summer day. No lie.
