This site is just getting better every day. I m so happy it exists. Just thought I would share... sniff...... sniff..... just a moment while I wipe my tears away. LOL
Did you all watch the 2000 postings mark go by? hmmm maybe I need a life?

"Just a thought" (this comes from the pool game lingo "Just a shot")

Glad you like it! The day that we went over 2000 posts was the busiest day thus far - more than 70 posts in a 24-hour period. Another fun fact: It took from the beginning of January until the middle of May to reach 1000 posts but only until last week to hit 2000 posts. That figure is even more impressive when one considers that the server was unreliable through most of June.

Congratulations everybody!

Speedyguy - In another milestone, you're one post away from the next "rank"

It is cool to see a message board grow before your eyes. I'm sure one day not too far from now there will be 1000 members on this board

You don't want that, believe me.

ClubGP used to be nice and pleasent in its beginning days, and now look at it. Nothing but flaming most the time. Now the lovely EFI-street.com one is going down the same path.

Great job Jeff. Being member #2 I can see this site has grown by leaps and bounds, and I'm sure it will continue to.

I agree with skza I gotta admit though even the irc channel is growing pretty well!! I would LOVE, just for a day, to see the number of people in #bonneville, be higher than the number of people in #grandprix (since it is actually FXOL and clubgp'* server we are using ) Mike (FXOL) is a really cool guy and I'm sure hed get a kick out of it

Short Story...
I met skza a loong time ago, maybe 3 or more years in that grand prix chatroom, just talking about grand prix'*. Back in '99 it was one of my dads options on his company car list, so I was in there all the time getting the latest performance info. Anyways, time went by and he ended up choosing a fully loaded Sable instead :( and I stopped going into the room for a while. Maybe a year passed, and within that time I myself had bought my Bonneville, and was still going to school.

Last Fall / Early this year just for kicks I figured I'd visit Http://www.clubgp.com to see what was new in the grand prix world. Once again, I met up with skza (lee). He told me about this site, and I was truly amazed. I had no idea there was even an interest out there in our cars like this. Next thing ya know, skza and I became pretty good buds talking about modding our bonnies (being the only 2 people with them in a room of 30+ chatters driving grand prix'* ), and then started throwing around the idea of "wouldnt it be cool if we had a chatroom of our own? for Bonnevilles? like these grand prix guys do??" Sure enough, all we had to do was ask Mike (FXOL the owner), and we got it!!

If you just want to try it out, without downloading mIRC and all that, just to see if you like it, you can get on over the web by clicking here: http://irc.clubgp.com:8000/ Now once the Java applet loads, its automatically going to enter you in to the #grandprix chatroom. All you have to do is double-click on the "room" #bonneville on your left hand side, and it will bring you into our room!! If your in the right room, you should see nicknames like BonnevilleClub, Terminator, Skza, Teuobk, SSEi95, sse1990, Greg, etc.. who have all become regulars in the room The web interface FXOL has built really is pretty nice, but if you get into the habit of coming in and chatting with us, your really going to want to download mIRC free from the web, like we gave instructions for here: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=297 to make your life easier

With 143 members we should have 143 people in there, because you all have computers !! With mIRC you also dont have to close the window when you leave either! Just let it sit there, and you'll stay sitting in the room, just idle, which is not a problem!! You can come back and talk and leave as you please!

One last thing before I turn this post into a book :P Once you get in there if you try it through the web, your nickname is automatically going to be "GUESTXXXXX" with the X'* being numbers. This is totally random, and to change it to the same nickname as your forum nickname, just type /nick nickname accept put whatever nickname you want where the word nickname is Exmaple : /nick Terminator is what I have to do. You will not have to do this with mIRC because it remembers your nick along with a whole bunch of other things.

Hope to see you all there, and I really enjoy being a member of this site!! Dont worry about the chat room ever reaplcing the forums either, its just not possible!! Forums will always be much more popular, and for proof just take a look at how active the Http://www.clubgp.com forums are, compared to the meesley 30 people in the chatroom everyday. Theyre just a place to hang out, talk, and have fun!! See you all later!

Great job on this site Jeff! I know when we at Bonneville Intensity started in 2000 with just 20 members it was rather depressing. Now with over 350 members it'* growing fine. BTW: we've had our flame fights too BUT I put a stop to that immediately. Clubgp could do the same but chose not to I guess. I've got a strict no flaming policy at Bonneville Intensity with a zero tolerance against member bashing or spam too! I'm not afraid to ban people (& have already twice) for going against the rules.
I've tried that irc channel but I don't like how you have to pay for it after a certain period of time! I like ICQ much better & it'* free to everyone!
To Ty (Speedyguy): I too live here! But I don't need another life because this one is full of what I love & that'* Bonnevilles! I spend all my time here or at Bonneville Intensity (Since I run it)
To Jeff: Anytime I can plug your site here I will!
