SES LIGHT! ( damn curse!)
Here is the problem. I was going for a drive today when I decided to pass a slower car. I put it into passing gear and went fine, but as I was passing the car the SES light came on and stayed on. We stopped at a few places and the car was shut off and back on a few times, but the light remains on.
I did the old paper clip thing and it would only flash code 12 ( diagnostic) meaning no code stored. So now the light is still on and I cannot pull any codes. I will be out of town and Renee needs the car during the week. It runs great BTW but it did stall on us after we stopped and went to take off again, not sure if this is related or not.
I guess I will have to bring it in to the garage to get them to scan it then???

If that is it then uh well I don't wanna hear it Will, cause NO I didn't clean it yet after you told me what to do. Well my excuse is that it is winter and still cold, but figures that I am going out of town this week ( I am always out of town) and the weather would be warm enough for me to fix it.

Wel I changed the cam sensor and the SES remains. The mechanic ( friend of mine also) tested the signal coming from it to the ignition module and it does get there. So it goes back tuesday for further testign when he has time. He did however find that the wries going to the sensor hit the belt at one time and it removed the wire covering so he fixed those wires too.
Lets hope it is something simple otherwise it may not make the trip to the Toronto meet in March. At least I still have the Malibu to drive down.
