Default Serpentine belt brands

I've abused my cheap belt for over 40,000 miles, and only now it'* starting to show a couple little cracks. Best 25 bucks I ever spent on a (car) belt.

Now, I've heard nothing but good things about Gatorbacks and their cool, quiet, V-shaped technologies. Just for the sake of asking, is it worth it to spend the extra money on a premium belt?

Gatorbacks are better then stock belts. I use Gates belts, which are better then gatorback. But will cost you more. They wont slip though.

I've had Dayco, tried Gatorback and found them to be no better than Dayco. When I moved to the 8 rib setup a buddy suggested the Gates belts.

Since then I've converted a few folks as well. The Gates belt I got and that others have purchased look sparkly on the inside like traction tape.

Do you want a belt or do you want traction tape?

FWIW I had slip on the accessory belt of the Bonneville once I moved to the electric WP. The engine revved very fast and with 1/4 wrap on the crank it wasn't enough. I planned on moving to the Gates, but pulled it before doing that.

I've currently got 5-6 gates belts sitting in my garage. My only complaint is they don't automatically adjust every time the mod bug bites and I end up dropping another pulley size. :P

Advance lists another Dayco belt for $37.

Just found a Gates online for $14 and shipping.

This is the cherry on top of my good day.
