There is something about the long weekend that make people'* brains go into freak-mode and they start doing unusual things. Provincial police across Canada are rubbing their hands together this long weekend knowing that millions in fines will be laid out across the country and they will look like heroes issuing all those tickets. But every year motorists still take the bait and get crazy like the gang of 13 supercars in B.C. recently busted for doing over 200 km/h!

In this incident, a traffic cop spotted a Chevrolet Camaro SS just northeast of Calgary headed eastbound on Highway 9 yesterday. As the driver passed Highway 21, he was clocked doing well over the limit to kick-off his Labour Day Weekend. When the radar tabulated the numbers, it came out to an astonishing 235 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The 58 year old Saskatoon, Sask resident was intercepted by police and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was arrested but was later released on $500 bail before his Oct. 27 talk with the judge.

Not sure what his defence will be? Maybe: "I was too cheap to buy a radar detector" will work?

Well that'* going to be a lovely ticket..considering mine was $345 for doing 140km/h in a 100 zone.

I dont get what the big deal is 235 is only like 106 or so. it is not like that kurt busch thing at 128+iirc. just my opinion but the speed limit is 75 out here so speed is not an issue for us

235Km/PH is 147MPH. I think he could have squeezed a bit more out of it.
