Road Trip: MPG, Oil Pressure, Engine Temp. etc.
I bought my '99 SSE several months ago, and have not done any extended driving in it. Yesterday I took a 254 mile round trip and used 8 gallons of gas. That'* 31 MPG. Is that about what I should expect? The car has 106,500 miles on it. The temp. gauge got up to about an indicator needle'* width from the 200 mark. Oil pressure was about a needle'* width shy of the first mark past the 40 indicator. There was no fluctuation in the temp or oil pressure at all, although it did take about 45 minutes to get the temp. up to that mark. It was 95% highway miles, travelling about 70 mph.

well, that sounds good to me. I just checked my mileage in my 98 SSEi and I got 21 mpg in the city. I do have a heavy foot and can't help accelerating off the line...

Every car here from well-tuned-up-bone-stock to well-tuned-mildly-modded should be capable of 29-31 on the freeway (long trip). This is true for the V6'*, supercharged or not.

Power improved and I no longer have the check engine light for the misfires. Millage is still about the same I get about 360 miles to the tank.
The first tank after I was at your house was better (I think around 390 miles to the tank), but then it was back to where I was.
These tanks were about 75% highway, 25% city.

When was the last time you did the math to see what you mixed driving Mileage was?
I'm lucky to do 23 or 24 Mixed..
But full out on the road 29-31 is easy to attain..
360 doesn't really sound that bad.. When you are at 360 miles where is the gage usually at?
