Removing/installing sway bars without lift?

I'm assuming that sway bars can be installed using jacks/jackstands..right?

My GMPP bars are supposed to arrive sometime this week, but I'm sort of lost as to how to remove the old ones. I know that i have to cut/otherwise remove the links and unbolt the brackets that hold the bar down, but how do you get it out? A few people have told me to drop the subframe..what the heck is a subframe?

Thanks guys

The subframe is the big metal framework that the engine/transmission are bolted to. If you lower it an inch or two that gives you lots of room to pull the bar out. It's possible you can sneak it out past the wheel hub w/o pulling the subframe, but I'm not positive in the Bonneville.
