yeah, even though the core'* more expensive, not only could I get my money back the same day, but I can save a TON on shipping. I'm guessing that they don't pay your return shipping for the core, so I'm gonna guesstimate I'd save a cool 30-40 bucks...

I won't put anything that says Duralast on my car. Buy name-brand from AZ only.

And I'd bet a whiny power steering pump that it is a duralast... (they're really that bad?)

Everything duralast is duracrap. Especially their alternators and starters.

Those parts are manufactured offshore by the lowest bidder.

Well, there goes that idea, then... Doesn't hurt to call them and find out what it is, I'll find out in a few

They do. The Saginaw P-Series pump I put on the '87 Camaro was a Cardone from Advance/Discount auto parts....works and seemed "right" in all respects. (Reman pump body, new tin and seals) That'* never a guarantee, but you pay money and you take your chances an anything these days.

Normally, I'd be all for a re-manufactured part. However, a recent experience with re-manufactured PS pumps (Cardone) would make me think twice. The pump failed on my friend'* 00 SSEi, so I put in a remaned, one. It wasn't long before it started to whine. Replaced it under warranty, and the second one was louder than the first. Finally, bought a used one from Ed Morad, which has been doing fine. I'll be the first to admit that it could be just bad luck, however.
