I pulled a relay out of the fuse box under the back seat of my 2001 Buick LeSabre. Now I can't get it to stay in, it'* loose in the socket. My relay has 4 prongs. It feels like the socket got pushed in deeper. The 4 prongs are aprox. 1/2" long. If I stick a small dia. rod into the socket, it goes in over 1/2" deep before I can feel spring pressure holding it. How can I get the relay to stay in ?

if you cant get it out with needle nose pliers or a small screw driver you can take the fuse box out and push the wire back in from the back side. you should disconnect the battery before you do that.

Thanks jwfirebird. My fuse box is aprox. 2"thick and 3 other modules are screwed into it from the back side thereby blocking the back side. Those 3 modules look like a wasp nest, just a series of 1/4" holes, some having wires going into them. So far I'm not having luck getting them removed from the back of the fuse box because the wires don't have enough slack to pull the module out. I can only pull them out 1/4" and I guess I need to pull
it out about 3/4" to get it out from the back of the fuse box. Still working on it to try and find more wire slack. Maybe I will try pulling all 3 modules at once to not need any slack. After pulling out the relay and not getting it back in, I am afraid to try this if everything pops loose.

unfortunately, i have looked at that kind of setup once but havent messed with it enough to know the trick
