Default reality has set in............

I am holding off all plans for my SLE. I am not putting any more money in the car, except for the regular maintainence of course....here is the story...... I tore my whole trunk out to soundproof it today. I removed everything amps, spare, all carpeting etc, and then had a discussion with my parents to make sure that i am saving my money, for a new car. I was informed that I have a new car in my distant future. Probably at the end of college I will have a new car mabye a 05 GXP coming off a lease, a 03 SSEi , or anyother year that has low miles....A */C is a must. I have to nurse my SLE for another 2 years. and then it probably will be gone.......

Why not keep the SLE and get something better like a firehawk? SLE = winter, firehawk is real performance.

No... Low 13s stock. My 99 is rated at 13.2 sec in the 1/4. Insurance isn't bad either! $650 / year for the 'Hawk and 'Bird. Rated at 20K and 5K, respectively with full coverage. All about shopping around! They each have collector coverage...all that means is that they can't be a daily driver. No big deal, though since we have daily drivers. Also, the 'Hawks retain their value very well since they're limited production!

I would do exactly what Jason recommended....keep the SLE as a daily driver/winter car. Then, buy the GTO, 'Hawk, or whatever for a secondary car.

Good luck with your choice and decision!
