I'm well on my way to having this next mod complete.

I've obtained the majority of parts and a couple are on order. This should turn out to be one of the easiest mods I've done to date.

For those who don't already know this, the LeSabre (00-05), Aurora (02-03) and Bonneville (00-05) all share the same wiper module / motor assembly. Apart from some wiring and the sensor assembly, there is little else required. The Bonneville just doesn't use one input and one output normally connected when the RainSense in installed.

This is the module I picked up. I'm hoping to have the remainder of the wiring installed over the weekend. I will provide all the details once it'* complete

Sounds pretty cool... I always thought it was kind of a gimmick, but then again I said the same thing about automatic headlights and I can't live without them...

Not at all when it'* about 20 - 25 degrees celcius, not raining, not snowing, not blowing and not cloudy, we get along just fine. Other than that, YES and I'm doing everything I can to win the battle

I must say though, life would be a whole lot easier if GM had just made a car with ALL the options. They really need to check with me before they make this mistake again

I drove a Cadillac DTS for a week about 2 weeks ago and it had those rainsense wipers. I HATED them. It seemed like they were always to to fast or two slow. I like my timed wipers better

I'm not sure how much I'm going to like them. We'll see. I do know that the five different "delay" settings on the wiper control arm change the sensitivity of the sensor so I'm hopeful this can accomodate that problem.

Yup. BTW ddalder, they do have a default timing built in, the sensor merely triggers the sweep earlier if the sensor picks up excessive moisture on the windshield. If the sensor isn't triggered, then the wipers use the normal timing, and act just like normal intermittent wipers. I believe the lowest two settings may have a longer interval than the standard wipers, though.

BTW, try using Rain-X wiper fluid. It makes the water bead up and just roll off the windshield. At freeway speed, I hardly even have to use the wipers at all unless it'* raining pretty good. Just make sure you drain the blue/purple/whatever stuff first. Something about the Rain-X seems to get streaky if you mix with a lot of the blue stuff...
