Default Radiator Question.

We dont have a honda section so i'll ask this here as im sure gm cars have this feature too. My radiator fans in this honda accord came on the first day i got it after it was shut off for a minute or so and they wouldnt go back off until i got back in the car turned it on then shut it off again.

Well last night after gutting it and driving it for about a mile total i parked it and this morning when i came out the car just will not start, no electric sounds no fuel pump hum, so i came to the conclusion that the battery was dead. Its currently charging right now, and i believe that the fans may have come on last night and ran the battery dead. I'm not sure of this but im guessing this was probably the issue.

Does anyone know how to make these fans not come on? Im guessing its that feature where they sense that the engine is still to hot and come on at any time to cool it and just run off the battery. The battery in it is brand new so its not a battery issue. I dont want to have to disconnect my battery every time I park it. And im really hoping the battery is dead and not something major or im going to be furious.. lol.

Thanks for any suggestions/help.

lol well as for the fans you could wire them to a toggle switch so you control when they run

This would probably be best, seems you'll be racing it. Who knows how long until it comes out of the connector, or something else happens after you've been beating on it for a while.

i put a toggle switch on my firebird for the fans its good for race cars because you can leave the fans on for longer than they are programed to shut off, to a point cooler engine=more hp
