"I raced him. He lost, of course. Dumb? Sorry for misleading you."

Thus, my deduction is he meant:

"I raced a[sic] older 1987(?) Monte Carlo off the line and it[my Bonneville] had him, and at 50 [he] had no chance."

I killed on fo the late 80'* monte'* a while back. Posted it here, too, 'cause the guy was such a poor loser.

I didn't leave him in the dust, as I gave in at about 10 over the limit. But my story is elsewhere.
