Default R.I.P. 454...

Okay, Sat. night, this Grand Am, pulls next to me, wants to race. I think, why not? Light turns green, we go, I stomp. Next light, he asks me if I have a chip. I said, "Nope. Bone stock, baby!!"

Next day, this "79 or '80 Chevy truck pulls next to me. Says, "Wanna run 'em??" I said sure why not, at green. He then goes on to say, "I ate a five-oh the other day, this baby is a 454!! No fuel injection, not computer, just raw horse power!!" I said, "Cool. At green, we go." At green we went, and it was just no contest. I smoked him so bad that at the next light, his girlfriend in the passenger side was covering her eyes, and he wouldn't even acknowledge my existence, heheh!!! Sore loser....

Got that one already. I think it has an underlying problem that the previous owner discovered, and didn't fix. That 160° stat is a bad idea, and nothing but a bandaid.

My 2000 is all stock too. Rogue and I have the same exact care except mine is silver and his is black and I have 12,000 more miles on mine. Anywho, Rogue has done a couple of upgrades to his car, Like the K and N filter, pluggs, wires, the new thermostat and something wlse....I can't remeber what it was. Just with those few minor upgrades there is a COMPLETE difference between our two cars. His has smooth flowing, quick shifting and seamless take offs even floored. Mine is still a great car don't get me wrong. But there is a different in horse power and performance.

And if you put a 3.5 or 3.4" pulley on your car it will blow his away...and it is only a $70 mod!!!

Heh, not likely..the first pulley is going on MY car! Just waiting for Hector and his intake, then I think I'll have Scott do my rockers....
