Don, I think they're all the same height. We have the same trans and shifter. I think your boot is just taller to mate with the bottom of the Cobra shifter. Maybe not.....hard to tell. We should measure.

I'm sticking with the 2k shifter. I love it.

I'm pretty sure my 97 cobra head sits lower then your'* Wiill. I'm also pretty sure it mates with the leather boot.

My 91 has an identical T shifter to the one you are holding in your hand in the first photo.

BTW... nice place to hold your BC Cards

Try it after you remove it. It'* a much easier reach for your thumb.

Bill:
Mine is still in a box at my parents place, buried, who knows where. I'd probably leave the button how it is. I'm 6'2" with hands to match, plenty of thumb reach.

Don:
Your boot looks the same. But your shifter is not the same exact unit. It'* not leather wrapped. There might be a difference in how it sits on the pole.

I've been thinking of changing to the 2000+ shifter for a while now. But I didn't know about needing the other boot. I'll have to look around for a shifter and boot. I bet they aren't too cheap brand new.

I like my snake shifter, too. Having driven standards most of my life, it feels more like a shifter to me than a T handle does.

I still drive with my hand on the shifter......
