I just replaced the rear brakes on my car and I noticed the rear hub assemblies on both sides were getting kinda hard to turn so would that mean they need to be replaced or is that normal for them. Also the rear hubs are factory from the year of 1989. So if they are bad is twenty two year good for them or not. What I mean by hard to turn is they don't spin freely you half to turn them by hand. Thanks.

Are you talking with the brakes asssemblies (calipers, pads, drums, shoes, etc.) off the wheel, or on?

Jack the car up and see if there is any side-to-side or up-down play in the wheel that might indicate a bearing problem.

I am talking about what the tire bolts onto. That entire Assembly. It does have some play but not much. I lust have some noise coming from the rear of the car even after I replaced the brakes and rotated the tires. Also I had the tires checked for a slipped belt and or being out of balance and they were not.

If you are rotating the part the tire bolts on to, and not removing anything else, restriction to free rotation is likely due to some level of brake drag. Jacking up the car and seeing if the tire/wheel has any up/down or side/side play will be a better indication if the bearings are failing.

I don't get much movement when I due that with the tire on but what is the noise then if is not the rear hubs. It seams to get louder the faster you go. Also it is not tire noise I all ready had that looked at. Also when I said about the lack of movement on the rear hubs the drums where not even on the car yet. I had just started to assemble the rear brakes when I noticed it on both sides.
