Default question #2

ok so i open my trunk after bonnies been sittin in the sun a while and theres this black stuff dripping down from under the 3rd brake light. i let it cool a while and then kinda pushed it back up in that little hole. it left some nice drops of that stuff on my trunk carpet (i seen those b4 and theyre a b*tch to get off). any way what the heck is this strange substance and more importantly how can i keep it under control? cause i dont want big drops of mystery substance all over my trunk carpet whenever things get a little hot.

Could it be aftermarket or dealer rustproofing?
