Default please shoot me now

getting ready to blow up the grand am lol first a headgasket now the trans

it has had a slow 1-2 shift for years that always just seemed to be a electric problem since i can shift it manualy and it shifts fine. then once its hot it starts whining a bit. thats when i started getting a bit worried well tonight. its clunking into gears its fine shifting under throttle, but as soon as i let off and it does its last upshift i can feel the engine shake and here it hit the gear. im not fixing the car this time as im going to dump it for a gtp once i get another job but untill then has anyone had any luck with additives

Lukes stop slip I guess helps, never used it myself. You may want to try cleaning the shift accumulator.

That sucks Jake. Hopefully it will last long enough until you buy a GTP.

I Had some great luck with Lucas trans additive.

What they said above. "mechanic in a can" rarely works for anything but prolonging the inevitable. Sounds like a lot more than an electric problem. Did you have a transmission cooler on it?

if adding things to your trans fluid fixes anything, your trans fluid was crap to begin with.

I feel for ya though, as my car is now parked as the motor developed a loud ticking a few days ago...time for new springs and/or lifters... :(
