I was running about 97 octane at the track two Saturdays back (7-9 gallons of 92 and 1-1/2 toulene works out to 97 -IIRC).
The car was feeling stronger with every run, but traction was what was holding me back. By the time we got 5-10 miles from the track the car felt extremely strong and if I could have had it running like that at the track with a decent launch I'm sure it'd have set me in the 14.7'* -not bad for a Series 1 with only a 180*, CAI, and Cat and (80 lbs of wieght loss).
