What should i do maintenance wise? 500 miles there and back so 1000 round trip. Ive made this trip before and have done the usual check all fluids and change oil before going. Check tire pressure. But since its winter i was wondering if any of you would do something else different.

make sure you have warm clothes and a blanket in your car as well as a small floor jack cause that stupid screw one they give you with the car takes for ever check your spare tire inflation and personally i carry a magnetic strobe light to put on the car if i break down at night

IMO, don't use that cheap blue washer stuff. Go with Rain X if you are driving through sub-zero temps.

If you are driving out in the middle of nowhere, take some non-perishable food and a jug of water.

Full tank of gas out and back.

Check your wipers. Get rid of the summer blades.

If you have taken care of the car and all stuff is up to speed. You should need fuel and a map.
