Perimeter Lighting 97-99 for sure

Had the use of a Tech2 this past weekend. Went through all the menus and items extensively. Found perimeter lighting and didn't quite understand what it would do when turned on.
Normal response unlocking the car is a flash of the headlights. With perimeter lighting enabled....the headlights come on and stay on for a while.
I didn't even know it was a possible feature.

I didn't read the owners manual past the part where they said "don't this..don't that" I figured it'* like this..If I didn't read it..then it'* acceptable to do it.
