I've been considering buying this really cheap-o ssei sitting on a lot for a few weeks. Guy said he'd give it to me for 200 bucks, and it just had a brand new tranny put in it about 2k miles ago. BUT...the engine is screwed, he didn't tell me what exactly is wrong with it, but he did tell me that it'* not fixable. The interior is fine, the a/c is charged, the body is straight. Being in the financial sh** hole I'm in, would it be wise to jump on this to save me the trouble of buying expensive parts down the road? I'd also need to keep it in a storage locker or something, but I'll work that out as time goes on...

I have one.. if you can afford it.. go for it.. especially if you know theres parts you need now.. or soon ( and if those parts are going to cost as much as the parts car.. why not get that instead )

I have so far used from the parts car

- both heated side mirrors, LCM, headlights.. doing right front calipers this weekend front seats are next ( not done yet )

- On tamara'* car it has light switch, and cat back from the SSEI parts car..

Those parts alone in CAD is well over wat I paid for my parts car..

If you're plannin on driving your car to the ground.. it might be advisable.

But again.. ensure you can A.) afford it B.) have a place for it to sit/stay ( monthly payment for lock up from wat you posted )

Another question: The car'* a '94, mine'* a '92. Does it really make a difference?

I think the 94 was a Series 2, but everything else is the same.

Chris, The 94 was still a Series I L67, 95 came the NA Series 2, 96 came the Series 2 L67.

Petra, yes there is a difference between your 92 and the 94. The SC is a different gen (yours - 205hp, '94 - 225), New digital EGR on 94 compared to your linear EGR, TB and LIM are different, resonator was added in 94, 94 also has the OBD 1.5.

besides the motor, the car is exactly the same (all parts will interchange)

so it'* still a good buy?

I wouldn't do it if you're going to have to pay for storage.
