The air bag module is the vehicle'* “computer” that controls air bag deployment. Since 1990, recordable air bag modules have been installed in select GM vehicles. SDM, Sensing and Diagnostic Module, is the name given to air bag modules used in General Motors vehicles from 1994 to present.
In my car, it'* called a Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module or DERM.

check the yard...

they told me that lesabres and similar cars all use the same piece, has to be 95-96 though... they wanted $65 for it...

didnt get it yet though...

Find one outta a u-pull-it junkyard.. then just show it to them and most will be like "ill take $25 for it"

got one for $35 today, put it in, DIDNT take the light off... grr.. i thought it had to be that... considering this is what the old one looked like...

other than checking all the airbag connections, are there any other things possible? could this unit be bad also???????

IF I DIDNT LOVE THIS DAMN CAR SO MUCH, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GONE SOOOOOOO LONG AGO!!

did you try and disconnece the battery for 30 min, Im not sure if that will clear the SIR light

i disconnected it for about 2 min, and touched the ends togehter, supposed to do the same thing..... and nothing

no no... i have the new airbag control module put in... that didnt fix it...

now im wondering where else to check... just all the wiring?

would a faulty airbag set it off?
