well my manifolds are finished. I couldn't really get to the rear one but the front one and the pipe that goes around the engine looks good. I tried to paint the intake manifold and fuel injector rails but the paint seemed not to stick well. No problem. I am going to sand that paint and go ahead with painting those yellow. Then I am going to get my dad to pick up some chrome bolt caps down in WV for me and I will put them on the various bolts around the engine as well as the valve cover bolts. I also plan to paint the valve cover yellow. I guess you can call it my "Bonny Bumble Bee" theme. I think it will look really nice when finished. I have to get started on the exterior soon. My dad agreed to paint my car this coming spring so I have to get prepared for that. I have to get a new grill and get an extremely deep key scratch out of the passenger side. I am planning to paint it Viper Red with as shiny clearcoat as my money can buy. I was going to paint it black and yellow to go with the engine but I am not getting body work done and I do have some minor dings in it that would show up too much with black. If I can get enough money I might buy a half gallon of white pearl metallic and get stripes done. I will see what I have the money for more toward when the time comes. For now I will stick with my winter project which is the engine area.

If you paint the valve cover yellow, paint the 3 black stripes on the 3 half-inch "bars" on them (don't know what to call them). It will help bring it together better. Can't wait to see the pics! Let me know how the paint on the exhaust manifolds holds up. Did you have to drive it for an hour to cure it?

Ok I will paint black stripes on the covers, sound like a good idea. I will post pics when ever I am done. This may end up being a winter long project. I am taking the valve covers off when I paint them . As for the manifolds. I just drove the car to work which is 30 minutes away. I looked at them here and they look great. I love how clean they look painted back. They have a more after market look to them now. I guess I can't say them cause really only the front one is fully painted. I also want to get a sticker made up for the engine that says something like " Ricers beware, this 3800 will sting you"

I hope to be able to do more this weekend. How long it takes all depends on how much money I have left over from week to week to put towards it. I plan to buy the yellow soon so that part should soon be out of the way.

Ya, I can't wait that long either. Only took me a day. Well I didn't do the valve cover though. Have fun. You going to get some yellow Taylor wires too?

Yeah, when I get some money I will get yellow taylors or Accels. The only thing that wont be yellow or black is going to be when I buy coils, they will be red of course. That probalbly wont be until after Christmas. Same with an intake kit. Anyone know if they sell yellow cone filters?

bonnie94sse, When you did your engine parts in gold, did you use a high temp paint or regular?
