Nobody'* mentioned a torch? I know that not everybody has easy access to one, but it'* an approach that I've seen. Especially after not being able to remove an O2 sensor ('97 Isuzu Rodeo) after an entire afternoon.

But yeah. The Isuzu has a longitudinally mounted motor, so that makes a difference too...
