Its a case of Sunfire/Cavy syndrome.

Its meant to battle the Toyota Echo etc, ugly as it may be...its nicer then that new Echo hatchback.

Anyone else seen this?
yeah, I've seen it.

I'll disagree on this one, but okay

There are endless examples of "sister models" over the years, identical cars (with a few asthetic differences) that cross manufacturer boundaries. It'* kind of sad in a way that designs can't be more original, and have to feed directly off of one another... all about minimizing production costs, I suppose. GM is notorious for this, God love 'em.

The most interesting car-sibling-relationship IMO are the nearly-identical Chevrolet Trailblazer and Isuzu Ascender. :?:

And you know what? Both cars are Korea-based. The Le Mans (such a DISGRACE TO THE NAME) was Kia-based (though I must admit, Kia'* pulled themselves into shape after Hyundai bought them out), and the Pontiac Wave/Chevy Aveo/Suzuki Swift, as well as the Chevy Epica/Suzuki Verona are Daewoo-based. Yuck. GM uses THESE cars for their "American Revolution"? Hardly American

Funny how GM shares the Envoy with the Isuzu Ascender, and Honda shared the Isuzu Rodeo through their Honda Passport - each pair is practically identical with minimal changes, like badges or grilles. Man, does the Rodeo/Passport'* 3.2L V6 haul *** though, it'* WAY better on the butt dyno than me LN3.

And Saturn'* Vue borrows from the Acura MDX/Honda Pilot with the 3.5L 250hp V6. Not a bad thing, the Vue seriously hauls *** over the 3.0L unit that was previously in there.

I've seen that one and yes, it is very cool! I really like the GXP'* especially.

I know it wasn't a commercial but,I saw the front end of a 92-94 green Bonnie on a station break on the weather channel last night.

*COUGH* Don't tell me you're just now noticing that GM does body sharing! They've done it since. . . .since. . . forever.
Firbird/Trans Am-Camaro
Grand Am-Aurora
Bonneville-Impala-Regal-Park Avenue
Asstech-Rendezvois

Oh yeah, and it'll probly be another 1-2 years before we see that in America. (YEESSSSS!)
Does make you wonder though. . . what if GM hadn't killed Geo. 2005 Geo Metro? 2005 Geo Aveo?

Personally, Aveo looks like a blatent attack on the Focus. They made an even cuter, even cheaper, even girlier compact so they can **** on Ford'* parade IMO.
