Here we go..

Is the wattage of the high beam bulbs the same as the low beam?

ie stock low is 50W, Silverstar lows are 55W, whats the deal with highs..high wattage?

I don't have my book handy and someone was asking :?

I believe they're the same. They use the same fuse.

Hmm. I was under the impression that stock low beams were 50 watts and the high beams were 60 watts. Unfortunately, now you guys have made me second guess myself. :(

I have a pair of 80W Naxo bulbs that I wanted to use for the high beams that I got from Seth, and a friend of mine wanted to upgrade his stock highs on his Golf...

I know the wattage may be different from car to car, but I wasn't sure, gonna check my books tonight

I dunno offhand, but it wouldn't surprise it if they were the same. The difference between low and high beam is primarily in the aiming, not in the amount of light output.

Jim, I just checked the old hi-beam bulb that I took out of mine. It is rated at 65w.
