I change my oil every 3,000 miles with mobile 1 synthetic 10w30 and AC filter; when i pull the dipstick at 2,500 miles i'ts as clean as if i pulled it at 2 miles after,Case in point thats how clean you can keep the inside of your engine; $30 bucks beats thousands anyday.Just my 2 cents!!!

Me, too. I buy my AC-Delco filters whenever I come across a sale, ditto for the Valvoline, and do my own oil changes.

It takes only chump change for me to do it this way, and the car benefits as well, so everyone'* happy...

I thought the "rule" was 3000 miles or 3 months? If you drive a lot of highway and rack up those miles quick I doubt the oil is going to be that polluted. But if you are in stop and go and do a lot of turning off and on then 3000 is probably a good idea. For me, 3 months is a good guideline. :?

Another simple rule you may consider is

When the Seasons Change......Change the Oil!!!

Of couse this rule may not work too well with our friends to the South!(no offense)
