I went to look at a '93 SSEi today. On the phone the guy said he parked the car a year ago after installing a brand new SC. He said he parked it because of brake problems and a small problem with the tranny that he just didn't want to deal with.

Car was parked in the weeds with blackberrys growing around the engine compartment. As well as evidence of rats nesting in there also.

The interior looked like it was in great shape before parking it, but now it is trashed, carpet has rotten spots, mould and mildew everywhere.

Not a broken light or scratch on the body though.

Reason he changed SC? Someone gave him some wrong info, it needs a PCM.
He has the old SC in the trunk it don't look bad and spins easily and quietly.


worse yet.......... he replaced it with a '70 something VW bug

will are you saying that 1993 ssei there only so many made there one in montreal green like yours look clean for $1300 i was looking at it for a winter

If it'* cheap enough, it could be good for parts. Or to bring back to life, I guess. Sounds like a lot of interior help needed though, and I'm sure brakes, maybe tires from sitting. It would have to be cheap. Low miles though...

I was seriously thinking of fixing it up, or maybe using parts to upgrade mine. I even had a thought of taking my motor and tranny and putting it in it instead of transferring parts.
However after seeing (and smelling) the inside I changed my mind. I don't know how bad the tranny is, or what'* wrong with the brakes, the owner wasn't too helpful. And sitting where it was, I couldn't look underneath to check. All the tires were low in air as well as tread.
I originally got the impression he would sell for very cheap, but now he wants $500 because he paid about $1000 for the SC. (so he says)

There are a lot of good parts, but living where I do, there is not a great demand for Bonny parts and shipping from here to where there is a demand is expensive. I'd also have to have the car towed about 100 miles to my place.

I sure do like them seats though. Even as cruddy as they were, I couldn't help but have a sit down. No comparison to my AC3 at all. If he'd sell parts, I'd take them and have them recovered to match my car.
