Welll Stitch, tell us how you like it and if it was worth the money. I want to get the FWI but I just can't make myself put out the $200. I would like to know how loud it is and any mpg gains. willwren, I can see your point a little better now.

*B2*, you will have louder cold starts primarily. Noticably louder. You'll also get a little whine, even with the L36 under accelleration unless you change your exhaust to drown that out.

I the summer, I actually open my garage door in the morning for the cold start (I simply go out that way to start the car now) so the sucking noise doesn't bounce off the garage door into the upstairs open bedroom windows across the street. A couple minutes later when the garage has absorbed the sound and the idle has settled, I load the dog and laptop up and head to work.

That'll be your biggest noise difference. Cold starts.

oh ya, the first time I started the car last night. Wow was that loud, i was in the garage. But after a minute or so it was quieter again. Almost as quiet as when I gutted my air box.

oh just one question for those with the FWI. If I wash my engine bay, do I have to cover the now exposed PCM?

The PCM is entirely weatherproof. Some cover, some don't.
