Default New record (for me, anyway)

Did the following to my brother'* car (03 GP GT) in six hours Friday night (with some of his help - he mainly cleaned since he'* not much of a car guy):

Plug wires
Spark plugs
O2 sensor
thermostat
LIM gaskets
UIM
UIM gasket
flushed coolant
changed tranny fluid
oil change
oil filter change
fuel filter
air filter
PCV
both coolant by-pass elbows
fuel injector o-rings
cleaned throttle body
new serpentine belt
new upper and lower radiator hoses

I was pretty impressed. Typically, I stretch this amount of work out over a weekend on my cars. Since I had another set of hands AND since he needed the car the next day, it was a good motivating factor!!!

The LIM gaskets were shot. I couldn't tell if they were original or not, but nasty nonetheless. 123,000 miles had taken their toll (if they were original).

That'll cost you plenty.

Try ebay or www.car-part.com

Even the wreckers will ship. Make sure it'* an L36 rail out of an H body. There are differences from body to body sometimes (for instance, the L67 in the Riv is different than the Bville).

Wow, that'* a lot of work in 6 hours, nice job! Like my dad said, we'll be doing some of this stuff on my Grand Prix in the near future. It'* an 04 with 72k miles, so some of this stuff is due. I need to flush the coolant and tranny fluid.

Some people are morons...the guy I bought the car from had the intake piping on all bass-ackwards. Maybe his mechanic did it, who knows. I know he had a WeaponR intake on it before, which he also gave me. I am glad I don't bring my car to a shop.

We refilled the system with the Prestone "all makes and models" coolant.

I was very surprised to see how much transmission fluid came out of the pan, too. We replaced 7.75 quarts.
