Yay! Base models FTW!

I've never regreted having the base level model. It does the job with power, class, style, and no pretension.

Glad it worked out for you Karen!

Can't go wrong with that L27. Tough long-lasting reliable motors. Just a little TLC, and that car should outlast 3 transmissions.

I was actually quite surprised at how quiet those motors can be. Remember, I am so used to low-level whirring, a rattlecat, and a slipping trans. So when I drove this one yesterday (which has none of those issues), it was like driving a very quiet and underpowered version of my SSEi.

Something else this car does not have...autodim mirror. So basically it is little more than an SLE with FE2 springs and a compass dash. Funny thing though...on the way back from commiting to this car, she spotted a 97 SSE with everything, including the dark grey interior, for sale. Damn near threw a fit when she saw the cash price on it. I told her "Nope...all you need is the one we just got" (though she REALLY wants a sunroof). Eh, she'll live.

He'd be faster if he didn't have those big azz feet

Going to go get the newbie now...I took pics of it last night, but for some reason this computer (or the card reader) will see the 1gb card, but won't pull the pics from it. So I am going to have to take the pics with the 512 mb instead.
