Default NEW CLEAR SIDE MARKER INSTRUCTIONS WITH PICS

I used the info on the original tech-info post to do mine. Being a very detailed person, it wasnt enuff for me. I have did this twice now, and documented it the second time as good as i could. Hopefully this will help poeple avoid spending uneccsary dollars on new ones!
If anyone has any other ideas please feel free to give me a shout.

Anyway, here it is. Hopefully it will end up in the tech-info sectiion...

LOL, its the cost of living around the DC Metro area. It sucks.

Maybe your year didnt have the same as mine? There was no prying these puppies open witha screw driver! :? That could be why they are so differntly priced too. Wheres the parts guy! :?:

Cool! I was wondering if i need to put a note in there for the year car its coming from. What ever year car that first tech info was written for was deifinetly not for me. He starts off by saying 'Pry the lenses from the frame of the car'. :?: :?:
I just unscrewed the 2 screws that hold it on. then it says something about prying out a rubber gasket. I dont even have one.

I believe the clear corner was first done on an 88 LE by Timsm00th, not sure tho, it would be nice to have a comprehensive list of all models for any mods in techinfo

We'll go as we grow

Those are the best instructions i have ever seen...very nice job. Now, i am very well motivated to do the operation. It'* basically the same for the 96-99 turn signals right?? i know the headlight assembly is a bit different.

thanks dude... Actually this aint the turn signals. its the side markers, on mine they dont flash and they take the 194 bulb. Turn signals on mine would be easy, they are already clear and use an amber bulb. jsut change the bulb out!! although highly illegal in MD!

They come out very easy, i would take yours out to compare it to the pics. once you unscrew the 2 ***** on the headlight assembly and pull that down, you'll see there are just 2 small socket driven screws holding the side markers on.
i cant imagine yours being that much differnt from a 95 although there were alot of subtle body changes 'tween those years. (And a not so subtle engine change!) we are talking a 96 right? i forgot already, short term memory loss. I think...

Huh? I think you lost me there...

1) Of course your side markers blink with your turn signals (and _alternate_ with them if your lights are on at the time), at least from the factory they do, unless you've rerouted the turn-signal lead to ground. (I have instructions on how to convert _from_ the non-blinking design to the blinking-with-turn-signals design if anyone'* got an older car that they want to convert.)

2) Are you saying it'* highly illegal to have clear turn signals in MD? Are you sure? Lots of pre-1968 cars used them that way.
