Tune up

car is in mint condition, needs a nice wax and itll look beautiful...so what do you guys think? should i do it?

only 1500 plus a new tranny, so around 2000 in the end

its not....
the guy im buying off of is my friends dad and hes a mechanic
he said i can keep the car at his house until i get the money for it too,
so its a pretty good deal im guessing
i cant wait for some boooooost

That'* a pretty good deal. Make sure to attend to and just keep your eyes open for any age/wear related issues. Worn bearings, worn CV joints, worn struts, seals that might leak, and any rust. Keep an eye on the oil pressure as an indicator of wearing bearings that can lead to an engine swap or rebuild.

Other than those types of things, you can get a lot of car for not a lot of coin in these higher-mileage 3800 cars, and they're very reliable with plenty of availability for parts, new and used.

yea im gonna see if bill boost will come take a look at it, make sure everything is okay. theres a little rust spot near the gas cap thats it though.
How much would an engine rebuild be? just to freshen things up...would i need new pistons and stuff
?

In my 2000 grand prix the tranny still worked, but 4th gear spun or something along those lines. So it just wouldn't shift into 4th. That was $2100 to have that fixed.

its not gonna be that much trust me, i know the guypretty well so he will work it out.
found a tranny for 550 with 60k on it, and he wont charge that much for labor
