That doesn't sound too bad at all.

What is a core charge?

What you get when you buy a part, and you send yours in. If you don't you pay the core charge I believe?

a core charge is when they tack on an extra fee until you turn in your old part and then they refund it to you. kinda like an insurance policy saying that they get the old part, you get the money!!!

65 and 60 it seems. It looks like an actual company that is just advertising online. The core charge means they're going to charge you an additional $400 until or unless you send your transmission back and its rebuildable. I'd say most companies that sell rebuildable parts will have a core charge. CV joints have core charges, engines too. According to the page the core return shipping is paid for. They did the same thing with my supercharger, its a pretty neat setup. They send the supercharger (transmission)and you, within a time limit, just drop your transmission in the same box and call UPS to pick it up. The warranty doesn't seem too bad either.
