Default Need Some Help Here Compass Calibration!!!

So this is pissing me off. I own a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi.

Here a few weeks ago my compass calibration came on in my panel. So according to the directions i am supposed to drive around in small circles and stay below 10 MPH. I have done both and have done countless circles in parking lots having people look at me as if i was crazy. I have done clockwise and counterclockwise and even have done figure eights and this damn thing still isn't calibrated!!!!

Someone help me out and tell me if i am doing something wrong or making this much more difficult than it actually is!!

From what i have read there are no buttons to hold. You go through the directions, and it tells you to begin driving in small circles and once it is calibrated it will say callibration complete. But I have yet to see this and i have done about 20 circles!

Well we did pull the stereo out to install a XM but we ended up holding off cause we need a adapter to hook up to the Bose System. Could this be cauing the problem??

Magnets in the trunk/back deck area will throw off the compass. I think yours is located in the back deck like the 92-99'*. The compass lives dead center of that back deck. Got any magentic items back there or near it is what I was getting at. That might be throwing it off.

are you sure there are no buttons to press to calibrate cause on the bonne i had you had to press the calibrate button down while you made the circles. Just my 2 cents
