Can anyone tell me what this "mm" script symbol on some 1970'* GM VIN tags means?

I have no idea. I always thought it was a little symbol of some sort, maybe for the plant where the vehicle was built or something.

Can't say I've noticed it. Not saying it isn't there, but can't say I've noticed it. What cars are these VINs on?

here are 3 GM cars from the 75, 79, an 1980 and a truck from 1980, the truck is the one with the dash pad opening.teh tagi * down there the pic didnt show it well, it has no symbol. Most of these are oldsmobiles but GMC, Pontiax, and Oldsmobile are present. The Oldsmobiles have the *
