The ownship/administraion and moderating staff found the content of the thread to be less then appropriate. As much as we understand your frustrations regarding the situation, the thread had gotten ugly and had degraded to the point where it was bringing out the worst ideas possible of our members. Yourself included.

As callous as the deeds performed to your beloved car were, the actions and ideas posted of the members had gone way past casual banter.

It was deleted due to content that posed too much liability for the club. The decision came from the top.

Sorry to disabpoint you. Perhaps you can continue the discussion via email or some other non-public media.

No, that was not the issue. If someone else read it here and then did some of that stuff it could have come back to haunt us.

I think Jeff just couldn't wait too long to act. He needed it taken care of right away. Usually we do notify before we delete (or at least right afterwards).

Its just a precation, its very rare that you didn't get a PM from either Jeff, Bill or any of the mods. I apologize for that, we let that slip.

You're a good feller and I know nothing would be said to implicate the club, but this is a public forum, so we need to maintain an acceptable front.

It is one of the most difficult decisions the administration has to deal with: deleting posts and banning people (not that you were ever in danger of that). But we do need to keep this place fairly clean.

We all appreciate your understanding.

It wouldnt have looked good if someone saw this, went out and did some of the things listed to said person or said persons property and then reported that they knew who did it based on that thread. It was a good call to delete that.
